Adjustable... pick up your ride, tune and retune until you like it. Add another suspension part? Just tune it again. Definitely worth it.
You "just" replace the cartridge on the fronts, not the whole strut. It's a couple hours of labor and advanced DIY. If you've done struts before and do some reading here then you should be OK. Perhaps picking up a manual would be worth it.
Nick at GS is a good resource (call him if you like and chat) on springs. Eibach always had the "progressive" feature going for it. I don't know if they still make springs for the 9~3. I think the Vgotland are progrssive but Nick will know. I recall that most others are rather stiff.
There used to be a guy around here named Schu - look for his posts on springs. He tried several short and long term.
