Giving up my Viggen - any advice when trading in?

Good evening & sorry for the long post...
I'm very sad to say the time has come to move into a bigger vehicle. I have a 2001 Viggen that has been good to me over the years but, unfortunately, she is showing her years. I've done a couple of internet searches to determine the value and was shocked at how little she is worth (I had to rate her "fair", almost rough condition). Question - is it worth putting money into it to try and get a higher trade in allowance? I would need to put at least 2 new rims on, 2 new tires, order a second key fob and a new computer display (I have no idea what that even goes for!!!) My estimation of these fixes would be around $2000 and right now the online appraisal is saying its worth $1500 (yes, lots and lots of miles have been driven). Any thoughts? Thanks, in advance.
