You were all very helpful and I appreciate your hard work in these forums to answer everyone's questions.
I spent over 4 grand + on my Viggen's repairs that purchased 6 months ago. The repairs kept coming, without much end in sight. With the soft top cover not working, in the middle of the repair I gave up. I just traded it in upside-down for a Mazda 3i. It's a big step down interior wise from the Saab. I bought the base model. The engine is not as fast as even base model Saabs. There are about a tenth of the options on the Viggen. However the gas mileage, and reliability, are more in tune with what I need right now. It feels pretty solid.
I felt that Mazda was the only innovative and adventurous auto maker in Japan, with their wide array of unusual engines and interesting interiors. I think Saab owners appreciate unique cars, as do I.
I will still be going to my Saab mechanic to service my Mazda. I don't think you can find better people than most Saab owners.
