Hey SeeVTSaab,
'member me? I had the exact same problem with my coupling nut a couple months ago when replacing the rack side hose (yeah that $175 is a b***h)... thanks belatedly for your reply and i did end up getting it loose over the course of an afternoon after several rounds of PB Blaster/whacking the connection - no torch necessary - as bill said, i just needed a little more patience. Alls well now but I've been following your progress on the rack side line... mine is corroded as well and I suppose it's only a matter of time.
It took me 2 hours to figure out the old rack side line removal and 10 minutes to get it back in - i remember that i had to bend some of the light alloy AC lines to make it work and then reposition them afterwards. Like you i drank a beer as brain lube while considering the problem but i'm not sure if it helped me....

'97 900S 2.3NA 5sp 5dr Cayenne Red 174K, if you see me around i've got a Thule bike rack on the back end right now
PS: someone's been driving a really good looking blue Viggen 3dr around Burlington lately. Always nice to see one with the correct wheels.
