Well it's been a long time since I've posted on this board, but I have a '97 900S 2.3L with a very strange issue. I drove it on Sunday to meet my father, we stopped at the ATM, parked and talked for a bit with the car running fine. The car ran fine for a long time before this, all of the sudden I look down and the car's shut off. No warning no nothing, it had just been running for 10 minutes tops. It just shut off, didn't hiccup or anything, it just died.

I was too far from my indie shop and they were closed anyway, so it went to a Firestone Auto Care shop here in Lancaster, Pa. They checked it, alternator is good, fuel pump is good as well it should be I just replaced it last year. They're getting good spark, everything else looks good, but they did find the starter had a flat spot. Is this even possible? I've had plenty of wrench time on VW's and Volvos, but not as much on my Saab. The shop tried to restart it, it just cranks, even a foot on the gas does nothing. Does anybody have any idea what this could be? Has this ever happened? I have no idea, any thoughts or ideas would be fantastic. Thanks guys.
