Got new Monroe Sens-a-trac shock absorbers for the rear of my 1994SEv-6. I recently put new Bilstein Tourings all around and it simply destroyed the ride (harsh/jiggly).

After opening the box you immediately notice the MUCH lower quality construction on the Monroes (but then they were only half the price of the Bilsteins). A little more worrying is that on the outside of the box in two languages it says "Check every 20,000km." (12,200 miles)! That, I have to say, is kind of creepy.

They are much easier to compress by hand than the Bilstein Tourings. Anyway, I'm only putting them on the rear and I'll see how that goes. Honestly, I expect quite an improvement in ride quality. Of course it's possible they will be too soft or will not last so long. If I can get 30,000 miles out of them and the handling is still acceptable then I'll be satisfied.
