In today's information age time and money will make anything possible. Having said that your idea is totally impractical. You would be spending BIG money and ruin an otherwise fine automobile resale wise. Far, far better to sell/trade the Viggen on any number of fine Saab automatics, a 9-5 Aero comes to mind. Go drive a 9-5 Aero somewhere. And remember all the cool people drive SportWagons, the ultimate hatchback Saab.
Add the roughly $3,000 to $5,000 (or possibly more) to the value of your Viggen and you can get some really nice Saabs that already have autos and will retain their resale value. Or use the dough to just buy a decent older OG9-3 or other fine automobile.
Any chance of teaching her to drive stick? It can be very difficult relationship wise to teach someone that kind of a skill, especially when she needs to practice on your prized Viggen. Having someone else teach a spouse or child stickshift skills can be oh so much more pleasant and effective.
