no turbo. I went slow, had the head tested and skimmed one valve needed to be lapped, that part cost 150 bucks. Another hundred or so for the gaskets, maybe the same for new head bolts. The C900 16 valve engine is quite similar to GM900, except in the longitutinal motors the work near the firewall was a pain, no clearance at all. You won't have those issues. You have to deal with the turbo charger plumbing with your car, soak the bolts with PB blaster a couple of times and you should be good. Figure a week down time, 6 or 8 hours disassembly, same for reassembly. Plus trip to machine shop for head work, broken bolts, etc. The pros do it all in one day....Did I save money? Yes, But my knuckles paid a price...I think the bottom end of the Saab engine is pretty stout, unless you drove five hundrd miles with water in the oil, just change it a few times and you are good to go. The noise when the lifters pump up for the first time will make you think you screwed up, but it goes away. Mind the cam timing...
Good luck,
John
