Does the gauge move at all? Does it seem to react when igition is turned on? If not, the temp sender may be faulty, or broken wire. I had the solder joint on the back of the gauge (behind the gage cluster) break loose and cause a fault. A pain to fix, and apparently my soldering skills weren't up to par b/c I need to do it again. The cause for me I believe is that the cluster mounting points are broken and any bump will shake the cluster and break things.
