I used platoff's site too. worked for me. critical part is making sure the flywheel is central. I eyeballed it by sticking my head up where the tranny WAS to see if it was centered with the splines. It was fine. I used some round steel rods that I put in the engine side of the mounting holes to allow me to get the tranny oriented correctly when putting back on. Toughest part was lowering and raising the tranny.
I bought a support beam to support the engine from the top so that it wouldn't fall on me. I also did the hydraulic clutch upgrade too (love it!) Just make sure to order all the parts/seals you need so it will go smoothly. I've often thought it would be useful to have a parts # list for typical jobs....
good luck!
