Hello Saab fan, never posted in this end of the bulletin board before, My proyect belove car is 85 900 T16 5 speed, and my daily is 98 9000 auto CSE with aniversary packege, here my inquire for the NG 900 folks, I got the chance to buy a 96 NG900 SE 3DOOR auto/trans, very cheap, body and paint are in decent shape, interior leather is wore out but not broken pieces, engine idles rough, but that is not issue for me having had the classic 900 for 20 years, engine issue are no concern (Meaning I can take them apart and put them back togher) but here is the main issue; Gear box light is on, and when you go into gear and select D car start out in 2nd gear, meaning it does not engage first, but if you manually go to 1 it does engage, basically you can only obtaing 1 gear if you manually do so, As per posting on the 9k bulletin board this is a relatively simply issue, valve spring/governor seal related, so yents. should I go for it and expect to do a relatively small repair on the autobox or should I just let this beauty go.. Any commnents very welcome.
Here in Chile auto/trans repair is very expensive just like in the rest of the world, Kindly let me know your comment will definitly go into making my decision.. Regards from Chile
