Unless the swedes decide to keep them afloat, I see Saab as going bye, bye, but I hope not.
I went to the Chicago car show and was amazed at how few people were at the Saab display.
They need a car like the Viggen to put them on the map as I think the Viggen came out at the wrong time. They should have taken that car and kept building on it just like Subaru with the sti, Mitsubishi with the EVO, Nissan with Z, BMW with the M3 and 5 etc. Stoping at 2002 was a bad idea. Just think of an all wheel drive viggen with 300 bhp? If they built a car like the Viggen now (brought back the name), but even cooler, they would be put back on the map. Besides the concept car, the new cars are boring.
They blew it with the 9-5 as they did nothing to that car for years.
The problem is the tooling that goes into the assembly lines, and with no monies, it isn’t going to happen.
As long as there is demand, there will be parts
