Bummer about the car. Right now it is especially difficult to work out the pros and cons of going for another Saab. Especially the pros when it comes to what will be out there in the world of parts and service.

I think parting it your car is likely to be time intensive unless you have a garage for storage, the ability to advertise a bit, and the mechanical ability to take it apart. You could get buyers to select out what they want -- when you can find them. Ultimately, the carcass will have to be junked.

An alternative is to sell the car to a specialty Saab parts recycler like Goldwing. Four years ago a good friend of mine got Tee-boned in a Saab 900 hatch back, a good 10 years old. Not so bad though that the dash, seats, mechanicals, lights, airbags, wheels, yada yada, were useful. Goldwing, I think, was emailed digital photos of the car that I took, and they made him an offer of several hundred dollars, and they arranged to pick it up at the body shop. They had to drive around two hundred miles one way for the pick up.

My car is one year younger than yours, but about to turn 145K miles. I am curious about the miles on it, SE or Base, if the car had regular oil changes with synthetic, was it altered or chipped out, etc.?
