Int. no-start with warm engine, Part Duh Posted by Gator Ray [Email] ![]() ![]() |
Hi all,
Thanks again to everyone who offered advice on my posts starting this past Sun, 26th. The symptoms began as an intermittant no-start with a warm engin, and progressed to a complete no-start which ended with the car being towed to the indy for what turned out to be a dead fuel pump--no fuel pressure when a test current was placed on it. I opted for the non-factory fuel pump which the indy picked up at the SAAB dealer in town,
and kept the original fuel sender.
The car was ready for pick-up today, and upon my first attempt to start it at the shop, it reguired a longer than usual amount of cranking to get it to start. Normally it takes 2-3 seconds, now it's more like 3-4 seconds. I spoke with the shop and they tell me it's not unusual for a replacement to act this way. It also seems to take a longer crank after the car has sat for a longer period, and vice-versa.
The battery is strong. The fuel filter and fuel check valve were replaced 10k ago. Should I replace the fuel regulator?
