If you have the time, I'd do the hydraulic clutch upgrade as shown on the page link.
I did mine almost 2 years ago. Very happy with the results, and no more broken cables. I was never stranded, but all it would take for me, is to be stranded once to justify the cost. (tow truck, inconvenience, getting replacement cable shipped to some remote destination).
