Take it for a drive - if you feel a vibration when you accelerate, especially at highway speeds, it may be the passenger side inner driver, driver's side inner driver bushing, or bad balancing.
Check for leaking drive shaft seals. Take an obdII reader with you if you can and plug it in to see if there are any non-critical codes lying in there that wouldn't trip the CE (or see if the sensors are in a "not ready" state which may indicate the current owner wiped out trouble codes recently).
Make sure you test drive it for a good 20 minutes or so to make sure the engine is fully up to temp. It's when it's fully up to temp that any problems with the purge system will show because the valve doesn't start purging the vapor until it sees the engine is fully warmed up. Once you've driven up to temp, just sit at idle for a couple of minutes and see if the idle stumbles.
Look for indications of a leaky water pump.
Ask the current owner if he/she has ever had the head retorqued.
