Ditto that, Gary. For all intensive purposes, consider yourself fortunate to have got your car WITHOUT a remote, you'll be saving yourself some potential headache, aggravation, and like Gary said, a MAJOR and uneccessary expense.
Over time, the buttons on mine became so difficult to operate that the doors wouldn't unlock until after a good 20 minutes of playing around with them, even after having the batteries changed! Talk about FRUSTRATING!! So finally after one day of doing that I completely gave up on using my remote and simply do what we all used to do in the old days BEFORE remote-controlled door locks and car alarms came into place and MANUALLY locked and unlocked my doors using my key.
Good luck!
