It just pulls out, but you will find it easier to pull out the switches of dummies beside it by carefully prying their edges with a small screwdriver. They come out complete with faceplate.
You can remove the sensor faceplate seperately by carefully prying it off the sensor. Then remove the sensor by releasing the plastic edges/clips (pry with a small driver) and push it from behind to remove it.
Don't break it, they are expensive to replace. When the front plastic grill comes off you will see a little thermisitor sticking out. It is VERY fragile as is the board it is mounted on. Once you get it out you will think "oh... that was simple".
Blow it off with compressed air throughout, particularly the blade area. Put a light drop of oil on the shaft... not too much, just a bit.
