Steering Wheel Shake

I have seen some posts about this in the past, and am at a loss for what's going on with my car. Figure I'd see what others could suggest.
I have terrible shake in the steering wheel at 48 - 72 mph. It is fine above and below those speeds, slightly worst when I have my steel rims and 16" Winter setup but still happens on my current stock 17" setup.
My tires were pretty scalloped so I got four new Toyo Proxes 4 and had all four wheels straightened - each was slightly bend, not that bad. There was a small amount of leakage from the left inner driver - had it replaced.
Then I had it balanced and aligned on a Hunter Road Force machine. Still shaking!
I just did not know what else could be looked at? I keep hearing things like shims, caster, toe, carrier bearing, bushings, drive shaft, struts but don't know.
Car is near perfect shape - only 30K miles on it. I did hit a massive pothole going 55 mph last year - really bent wheel and blown tire which were replaced. Did not experience any issues until a few months later when I put my winter wheels on and that's when shaking started and after all of this most recent work still bad.
Mechanic did say it looked like the front right strut was slightly compromised but did not think it was bad enough to justify cost of repair.
Any ideas? Appreciate any assistance.
