I have a 1999 with the T5 (red) engine. Assuming I won't get the speedo back when pulling just the control unit, does the SID get its info from the ABS Controller too? If not, is there anyway to get the SID to show instantaneous MPH (other than average MPH).
As for the liability issue, I can see it for not having a speedo (that is probably against the law), but I can't see one for not having ABS, (my first 3 cars didn't have ABS), and ABS is not a legal requirement.
