Minor damage to front jack pt.,does my repair sound ok?

Hey guys,
I sustained some minor damage to my front jack point (along pinch weld) on my '99 9-3. Basically the car slipped off a jack, as I let someone help me change a tire late at night. (I have jacked/changed the tires on this car every spring and summer and never had an issue, I should have done this all myself.)
Anyway, the jackpoint got slightly bent, but I'm more concerned that the paint and undercoat sheered off to the point where I see shiny metal.
I wiped the area clean with some towels, and applied some of my touchup paint. I let that dry then followed up with a shot of 3M undercoat. Does that sound OK? I am super anal about rust. Could the fact that I painted it and coated it actually trap grime and moisture in there and make it more likely to rust?
I usually jack the car up with a thick piece of rubber on my floor jack cup to avoid scratching any undercoat or paint off the jack point.
Thanks!!
Alex
