As turrbo was saying, you use the plastic inserts to disconnect the reverse collar. Then, all you have to do is remove the shift know. ALL I DID was grab it really hard and twisted to the right, or left and UP at the same time. I torque forces applied to the shifter were not excessive to cause any damage.
Then, I simply did the reverse. I did not use epoxy on mine, it's not necessary. Just twist it on good. Keeps your door open for the future in case you need to change it again.
