Week from hell: Now no 1st/2nd gear

Went to Sears to get my tires rotated and balanced, and I left with no 1st or 2nd gear. Apparently the idiots tried to force it out of reverse without engaging reverse lock. As I pulled away from the store, my car died and what I assumed was 1st gear was really harsh/sluggish. After getting some speed, what I assumed as 2nd gear was the same.

Somehow, they have knocked the gearshift over to the left and now I can't access 1st or 2nd. As furious as I was, I managed to not cuss at anyone (even though I really wanted to). The store manager said they'd cover any damage that'd occurred.

Drove out to my mechanic with my flashers on, and managed somehow to stall 2x. Those times I stalled occurred when started from 3rd from a dead stop. My mechanic is worried about the unnecessary wear on my new clutch, but has planned to look over everything meticulously.

We will not charge Sears for anything not damaged, but I will ensure my car is properly working.
