....as many of us own Viggens because they are practical performance cars, something you could never say about the Z28 in any production year. Think about carting kids around.....a hatch in which you can stuff a bike or two....or fill with camping gear with kayaks on the roof. Never seen a Z28 used like that!
Or fuel economy...ouch with the Z28. I owned a '66 Beaumont SD which was a Canadian Pontiac version of the Chevelle SS with a high output 327 and I don't think I'd be liking to drive that any distance today with the price of gas as it is. Even back in it's day when fuel was cheap it cost much more to drive a Z28 than a regular car....not so with the Viggen.
The early Z28s were beautiful cars, as were the early Trans Ams (or how about the Firebird Sprint?) but I think there are better comparisons to the Viggen.
