As time went on the whole mullet haircut camaro Z28 image became an icon of bad taste, but in the beginning it was something different.

The 1967 Z28 was one rare and special car, much like the Viggen. Based on the 327 pushrod "small block" motor which goes back to a 262 cid engine from 1955 (6?), the 302 cid engine was built to run in the 5 liter Trans Am series and run it did.

Who knew that de-stroking the 327 would produce a pushrod V8 that could turn 7500=8000 rpm when 5500 was considered about it previosly.

These cars were produced in 1967 and 1968, if there was a good one in my garage right now it would be worth more than the house...
