The shop agreed that something wasn't right and "volunteered" to flush the fluid again. They have a machine that hooks up to the cooler line input/output to suck out old fluid and replace with new, so there is no need to do multiple drains.
Upon further investigation, the workorder shows they used BG #312, but the materials list shows #313. They refilled today with #313. We kept the sample of the old stuff, and took a sample of the new stuff. I'm encouraging my parents to send both to a lab for comparison, so that if 2000 miles from now something goes *really* wrong, we'll have some ammo to use.
My dad sent along a "transcript" of his conversation with the service manager - it's *clear* they have no idea how fluid grades, types, and specifications apply. Really, really sad.
