As you said. First I PB Blasted the internal and external rust on the splines. I tied up and pulled the strut toward the front a few inches with rope to get a little more room. Once the axle was in position, I could hold the middle and jerk it forward to get it started. After that, I used a rubber mallet to tap the outer end and she went right in. If that didn't work I thought I would take out the intermediate axle and assemble them out of the car. I'm glad it didn't come to that. Thanks again.
