I agree with you ryan and often wonder about the differences between OE, aftermarket, and even OES. For me it always comes down to the fact that OEM is better spec'd and checked (that may not be the case any more for us, I know). If you know anyone who works with having products produced in Asia (I'm an Industrial Designer) you'll quickly find out that their biggest problem is material substitution....Asian companies often don't understand (or chose not to) that one material is not the same as another, and will often gravitate towards the cheaper one. Mattel and many other companies can attest to this...as soon as they're not looking...ooops! With SAAB, our cars in particular, I'm not sure if anyones 'looking' but still hope that they're some good old OEM bits out there.
As for HEPU, my guess is it's a company that contracts to Asian suppliers and has a German address only to make it look better.
