Seems I've seen another post about this, but can't find it now. I followed crawdad and John's recommendations, and got the intake and exhaust cams lined up with 15 rollers between the marks. My dilemna is this: at crank TDC, I have the choice of the cam marks being slightly before the marks on the bearing stands, or slightly past (when viewed from back facing front of engine).
It seems that the marks are a little closer when I move everything over a tooth to where they're just past the marks. The tensioner is tight, and there's no slack on the side opposite the tensioner - it's just a matter of deciding which way to leave it. Right now, the cam marks are just slightly past the bearing marks when the crank is at TDC...leave it, or move it back..?
