Weird thing -

My dad emails me the other day, ssys he got the car washed, got gas, drove 30 minutes home, parked the car, now it won't restart.

I took at look at it the other day, no fuel pressure at the rail and I cannot hear the pump. I am getting good spark (DIC removed, spark plug resting on the lifting lug). That should mean Trionic things everything is okay.

I put +12v to fuse 32, which is "fuel pump." There is also fuse 38 (IIRC) which is fuel distribution unit. Not sure what the difference is, but in any case, +12v to fuse 32 yields no fuel pressure and I still couldn't hear the pump. I dropped the knee bolster, and jumped the fuel pump relay - pin 30 to 87 - and still no action.

Sure sounds like the fuel pump, but I've never heard of one just spontaneously and totally failing. Testing the pump is obviously a difficulty due to access, so I'd like to be as sure as possible it's the culprit before I dismantle.

Can anyone suggest something I have overlooked?
