help -new rear pad won't go in with baking plate! Posted by inca99 [Email] (#1862) [Profile/Gallery] (more from inca99) on Sat, 27 Oct 2012 11:39:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
greetings,
just doing a little sat. afternnon brake pad job. fronts installed fine, rears are giving me trouble. the baking plate on one of the pads has little curved clips that fit around the pad to keep it on. while tapping it into place, the plate came loose - looks like b/c there's not enough room to get in. now it won't stay on at all. can i leave the backing plate off for a while until the pad wears a little, or is this a bad idea? my calipers are recessed all the way in, there is just zero room for both the pad and the plate to fit. (pad and plate went in ok on the in-board side.)
thanks,
inca
