My '02 Viggen only has 83,000 miles on it but it's got a stage 4 tune and spent it's first 2 years with someone else.
So far, clutch (previous owner??? as I usually get 125K miles out of a clutch), tranny (definitely the tune and a weak crush sleeve), AC clutch, oil sender, fan controller, SID, vacuum hoses, pulley and belt, rotors (2 sets), brake pads (4 sets), 2 MAFs and 1 DIC. Of course plugs, filters, etc. get regular replacement. Not too bad I think. I don't drive like an old lady, it's a daily driver (when I drive a car...bicycle is my preference), it lives outside and sees salty winters.
But recently I've decided to avoid the eventual by replacing: all coolant hoses, H2O pump, thermostat, control arms and stanchions, shocks/struts, strut mounts, sway bar links and tie rods, all senders, and throttle body because I don't like to wait for things to break.
My guess is that if you haven't replaced the struts and shocks, they should definitely be on your list. I was amazed at how bad my rear OEMs were.
So how much are you willing to risk? I've also always felt that once you decide a car is an 'old car' it's a quick decline.
