The way most people are likely to tow with their Saab--a utility trailer with some building materials, a load of loam or mulch--isn't going to do any damage. If the trailer isn't overloaded and you have a proper hitch the car can do this work with no problem. These are solid cars fully capable of towing. You drive differently with a trailer, but the car is OK with it.
I tow several times a year with my 9K (Aero chassis) or my wife's 9-5. I'd tow with either of the kid's 9-3 SEs if those cars had a hitch. And a 9-3 SE is really just a Viggen with less engine and a few lower spec goodies.
