totally agreed. 2K lbs is fine as long as it's well balanced. I am sure the limitation on a viggen has to do with the body kit/rear bumper.
Other things that don't make sense:
a Prius with a tow hitch
a Toyota tercel with a tow hitch
most mama-drivin' SUVs with tow hitches.
Although I recently found out that the Ford expedition only comes factory-equipped with a tow hitch receiver, so if you need to tow a boat, etc, you can rent this SUV and the rental place cannot deny your usage of the tow-capabilities...kinda nice if one ever needs to do something stupid like buy a boat 1000 miles away.
