Based on what I am gathering it seems most likely more sludge / deposits worked their way down. As the light only coming on at very low RPMs when hot and not since on subsequent short trips, I'm assuming the screen is not 100% blocked and whatever was blocking may have fallen off at least a bit.
My shop wants to test the pressure and maybe drop the pan again after they did 3 months and 250 miles ago for several hundred more dollars. I really don't want to fall into a pattern of the cost of having to drop the pan every few months because more stuff came loose.
As such before I am forced to drop the pan, I'm leaning towards trying Kreen to see if that can at least help get more crap down. Since I don't drive the car that much and I kinda like the idea of a solvent sitting in the bottom of the pan "working" on anything down there, versus a detergent.
For the most part, the vast majority of the little driving I do on this car is within a 6 mile radius of the shop and I have AAA. Depending on how things go over the next few months will dictate what I do next with when & if to drop the pan. When I need to change the oil next I'll likely do with something like Mobile 1 High Mileage with the added detergent.
