Might have a leaky water pump Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Tue, 20 Aug 2013 16:59:34 In Reply to: First cruise in the new 'vert tonight, MI-Roger [Profile/Gallery] , Mon, 19 Aug 2013 17:25:46 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Some mysterious liquid on the garage floor this morning that my wife found after I drove the Viggen to work. Popped the hood after returning home and the only moisture I found is on the face of the engine cover behind the water pump pulley area. Damp but no accumulated puddles on any cover bosses.
The liquid absorbed very easily into the sheet of blue automotive paper toweling my wife covered the spot with. No residue on the floor beneath the towel. Spots on towel are slippery with no strong odor or color.
Might be a weeping pump seal. Might be a weeping front cover gasket where it mates with the head.
