Hey Anders,
Thanks for your help on this, I really appreciate it! I took the info you gave to the mechanic. Apparently he has been down the route you were indicating. He's gone so far as to order 6 different turbos and measured them all. All have had smaller fittings than the 3/8th of inch needed.
He said that he had actually called Garrett directly and they stated that they had changed the fittings "mid production"? Not sure exactly what that means.
You stated that this is a Garrett for a B205L but my engine as I found out is a B205E. The mechanic said that there isn't a difference between the two but I wanted to see from you if there is.
The problem that my mechanic is running into is that the intake on my old turbo is one that you clamp on. The ones that he is finding are where a hose is fitting into the intake.
He also stated that he had used adapters but the oil line on the back of the turbo going towards the engine is too long. He said that an elbow type fitting would work but there doesn't seem to be anyone that make them.
He's pretty much at the end of options at this point.
Is there another route to go on this?
Thanks for your help.
