It can be hard to get all the air out of those old Ate double piston rear calipers - the bleed screw only vents one of the cylinders while the other cylinder still holds air and ancient fluid. You have to use a C clamp or other tool to push the outer piston into the cylinder to force all the air out of that side. I would do this first on both sides of the car before suspecting a bad master cylinder.
