Watch for leaking hydraulic cylinders Posted by turrbo [Email] (#8) [Profile/Gallery] (more from turrbo) on Sat, 27 Sep 2014 06:47:13 In Reply to: 2003 9-3 convertible potential problems?, crsaab, Sat, 20 Sep 2014 06:18:54 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
When testing one out, unlatch the top and use the switch to raise the 5th bow and open the tonneau cover. Hop out and look at all the hydraulic cylinders that operate the top. If any are leaking, prepare to spend a solid amount of money to replace or repair them. Or keep a bottle of hydraulic fluid on hand and top up the system whenever it stops working.
The '04+ convertible is just light years ahead of the old style in terms of reliability and driving dynamics. If you drive one, you probably won't ever want to get in an older one again.
