"Angular" Brake Pad? Posted by Justin VanAbrahams [Email] (#32) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Justin VanAbrahams) on Wed, 29 May 2019 16:17:09 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Friend had a shop do brakes on her '99 9-3. I was looking at the final result yesterday and noticed the pad surface is not parallel with the rotor - the "tip" of the pad (nearest the hub) touches the rotor, but there is a visible gap at the "top" of the pad (nearest the caliper bridge)…. that is, the pad slants away from the rotor going inside to outside. I have done brakes on hundreds of cars and dozens of Saabs and *never* seen this. Shop says it's "how all brakes for European cars are." I broadly trust the shop - owner is a good guy and I have known him for a long time so I'm doubting my own experiences. Has anyone seen anything like this?
