Best guess as to a 'fair price' would be in the $13,500 - $15,000 range with the caveat that all the systems (A/C, Cruise, Heated Seats/Rear Window/Mirrors, Power Windows, Power Antenna, Headlight Wipers/Washers, Rear Wiper, etc. are all working and the brake pads/rotors are in the safe range and the exhaust system is solid with no rusting of the muffler 'layers'. As to price, the mileage is irrelevant since it could be 60,000 1km trips to the daycare! or 500km weekend jaunts. Generally the condition of the brake, clutch and accelerator pads will give an idea as to the wear. If the car has been in lengthy periods of no use, and left outside, you should have all the belts and hoses checked for "environmental" damage (cracking, splitting, etc. including the serpentine belt). Oil should be dark but not thick and the outside of the filter should be relatively clean if it has been changed (although both the oil and the filter could have had their first ever change at 59,999kms! the cynic speaks!). I bought my 1996 900S normally aspirated 5 door over the internet sight unseen but viewed by a relative. I had the car shipped to a local Saab dealer, paid the $69 for a multi-point inspection, recall inquiry and general going over. The car has chewed up one serpentine belt in the 77,000 I have put on the car since Feb 99. Would I do it again - you bet. Stay away from V6 and automatics and enjoy.
