Sensor? I assume that you mean the location of the pressure source for the boost controller.
If the turbo compressor housing hose barb is used, the pressure does not relate very well to the manifold pressure, and boost will drop with RPM's and will act strange in lower gears too.
A pressure tap at the intake manifold will cause excessive pressure overshoots, especially in cooler weather.
I have an old style intercooler with an integral return pipe. I drilled a hole in that and bonded a rubber plug aand hose barb assy over the hole. Note that the hole has to be large enough to see in there, and to root around with a tube and shop vac to get out aluminum cuttings etc.
This works much better, but there are still some boost loss at high RPM's. The pressure overshoots are much reduced and everything acts like you would expect. The wierd gear dependant pressure drops with the hose barb at the turbo are gone. So am condidering a pressure tap from around where the bypass valve is located. The losses might be significant from the IC through its exit fitting. The other location would still be near the boost controller, as the boost controller it self can then be located in that direction. There will be some concerns with manifold heat and hoses etc. If this works, I am expecting to better maintain boost pressure better at higher RPMs, just as a manifold pressure tap achieves.
The alternatives are to go back to the manifold pressure tap, and install a pop-off valve directly on the manfold, to allow the pressure overshoots to puff out. But that violates some principles of simplicity.
