I just called Abbott America to get some more info on thier intake system.
I specifically asked about the issues of hot air and the fact that they never offered that product in the past because of that issue...

Basically the answer i got was something like this:
There was a consumer demand for a product like this, so they decided to look into it further. After making one and testing it, they found that there was a small increase in power over the standard drop in filter. they have measured around 6hp increase compared to the 2hp increase for the drop in filter.

they guy i spoke to also said that obviously there would be a difference if you are driving in Texas compared to Sweden !!
im sure that can apply to people on this board.... its not as hot here in NH compared to people down in FL...

there ya go...for what its worth.
