The links definitely show the turbo housing being ported. There is certainlty some gain to be made by porting the turbo housing, assuming the SAAB turbo housing has similar ID mis-matches.
What we really get into here is more the realm of the TSN Performance BB. The easy gains are the airbox modification and the porting the throttle body transistion casting. Besides, these these two "improvements" also improve the daily "streetability" of the vehicle and are fairly easily handled by the typical owner. Adding a low resitriction air filter and a low rstriction "sport" exhaust will also improve the engine airflow with a minimal impact to the vehicle (except for the owners pocket book).
Porting the turbo housing, porting the engine head, changing the size or type of turbocharger, installing an upgraded intercooler, installing performance engine software, etc. all will add some extra horsepower to the engine, but are probably more than the average owner wants to tackle be themselves. Also, some of these upgrades have very marked effects on the streetability and longevity of the vehicle. I think that is why Scott started the Performance BB, so the more adventurous owners would have a forum for the pursuit of even more advanced power and handling techniques.
