The plug half way up is the overfill plug.
The fill plug is on top of the transmission. Of course the brake lines make getting to it challenging, I used a universal and a couple of extensions (I think). When I filled with Redline MTL, I used a transmission funnel that had a flexible hose. Then I removed the level plug and let the excess dribble out.
I removed the drain plug last, just in case I couldn't get the others off. This was accomplished by fitting the 8mm allen head socket with an 8mm box end wrench. Then I jammed it into the plug socket and pushed it home with my finger. Finally I used a screwdriver pressed between the end of the socket and the subframe to keep everything engaged. I ended up using a 19mm box wrench as a cheated to break free the lock-tight on the drain plug. Actually, I bent the 8mm wrench with the required torque to free the plug.
You could refill the tranny through the level plug (if you have a pump). But that can get messy.
