I found that the air box can be cracked or hole plugged. more Posted by paul [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Anyone find any info on ac leaking onto floorboard, Brian J, Mon, 27 Aug 2001 22:38:07 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
However,
Two weekends ago I removed the glove box and started checking things.
I Opened the airbox to see what the deal was.
I found two things. One there is a foam like gasket which seals the cover. I think this is the culpret!! But when I re-seated the gsket and closed everything up, I still got the water leak.
Second thing, I checked to see if the hole is plugged from the bottom of the car. This hole is very difficult to get plugged up! So for the people who say use a coat hanger and dislodge the blockage is way off. All seemed clean from that aspect with my case. I even went to the extent of unscrewing the plastic piece which holds the protruding piece which allows draining of water into the Engine cavity. But I didnt see any issues there either.
So bottom line is: NO! I still have no fix. HELP :o( !!!
I think I might try a new gasket made out of silicone to see if that will stop the water from coming in.
