1.) The Dawes device will fit right out of the box. It uses a narrower hose to connect to the wastegate actuator than stock. The supplied hose will fit the wg actuator barb.
2.) All you need is a simple connection. The MBC connects between the turbo barb and the wastegate actuator. No tees needed.
3.) The Saab T5 system does not keep the wastegate closed until max boost is achieved; it is always cracking it a little. Aftermarket controllers will do much better. The smart ones actually begin to open the wastegate a few fractions of a second before max boost is achieved to prevent overshoots. The MBC will only allow pressure to reach the wastegate once max pressure is achieved. This does mean that the system has a small amount of overshoot inherent in its workings. This is why you can't get pressure to remain exactly at the fuel cut; you have to allow for temporary boost spikes.
4.) I think Dean dynoed his car at just over 200HP, but he has intake mods and a sport exhaust.
5.) It's not necessary to use 93 octane, but it is safer...I don't think anyone can really say how much safer. If you decide the gas cost is too high, simply pull the MBC and restore computer control. You can put it back in when you want to drive fast.
6.) T5 can still adjust timing and fuel mixture to some extent. These are its first line of defense against knock. If retarding the timing and increasing fuel injection duration is insufficient to eliminate knock, only then will the boost pressure be reduced. Your engine should not knock anyway if it's in good shape and you're running high octane gas.
