A while ago I posted my problem and the answers covered a lot of ground. The car runs extremely well with excellent gas mileage. There is no oil in the coolant, there no oily residue in the tailpipe, there is no blue smoke, none of the normal bad valve seal or bad oil ring indicators. I used an additive to 'clean' any deposits at the suggestion of a couple of people on this board - no difference. The only indication of something wrong is that plugs 1 & 2 both show signs of oil whereas plugs 3 & 4 are nice and clean. Does the head gasket between cylinders 1 & 2 have an oil passage that could be compromised? Or could it be that there really is some very small oil leakage past the valve seals or oil rings in cylinders 1 & 2 that, when burned (I use synthetic oil), does not produce the blue smoke. I can continue to add a litre of oil every 1,500 kms for a long time and still be cheaper than an engine tear-down. Car has 135,xxx kilometers on it and this started at about 85,000 kilometers. Anybody have a similar experience and/or a possible explanation? TIA
