I called Knoi and talked with one of the application engineers. He said that most people don't have the correct wrench. His suggestion was to use a pipe wrench. What I did was buy an expandable pipe wrench that would also pipe the largest connectors of my home's plumbing ( it is a 12" size wrench, thereabouts). Anyway, I just clamped the strut into my vice such that the part that attaches to the tie rod kept the strut from rotating. Then I grabbed hold of the nut with the pipe wrench and tightened the sh*& out of it.
BTW, Harbor freight sells the wrenches that the nut is designed to be used with.
PS, why did you remove the brake splask shield?
