How have other Koni installers dealt with the pin wrench shock retaining nut that Koni supplies? I don't have a pin wrench, and don't know where to get one that will accomodate 39mm between centers. I saw a smaller one, single ended, which I thought could not be used to create the required tightening torque.

Brake shield removal and the 3 #40 torx screws per side: Haynes suggests removal, which I did. Marjor pain. Dealer tells me that they do not even stock those screws* as parts, as they never remove the shields. They turn the strut to get access. They also so not use a special tool to remove the ball joint taper. They turn the strut to get access, apply some downward force, and simply whack the knuckle at the side of the taper and the ball joint pin pops out! you have to do it just right or something. So I guess it might take driveway mechanics a few attempts to get it to pop out.

* they were not wanting to come out. I had a severe struggle to get them free. My torx bit was twisting! I was able to use them afterwards. But I will replace them all when I fit new rotors. If you are in there, I would put some oil in them reduce problems in the future. They are in blind tapped holes, which is good!
